I like the concept and outcome. The thought behind making locals weave together is very interactive and its like a community heirloom. It joins people, especially since anyone no matter their age, gender or ethnicity can join. The artist purposefully decided to make this project nomad, allowing different people from different towns or boroughs to do their bit as well. And lastly, the idea of actually making the piece of art practical by inviting everyone to have a picnic on the large-scale rug, was thoughtful - I think they even cut up the rug once it was finished, so that the different areas would own one piece (in the video, the picnic rug looks a lot smaller than when they were making it.)

She creates her artwork through the exploration of paper constantly refining and looking for perfection whilst embracing the versatile qualities of strength and fragility. She challenges the idea of paper - a simple material. She hand cuts and folds it, building layer upon layer resulting in a highly textured, intricate and effective outcome. When I first saw her work, I thought is was silicone or some other complicated material.
